- SpinWall is distributed as shareware on an "I trust you" basis and is not in
- any form to be considered public domain or free. Considerable effort went
- into creating the program and I am retaining full protection under the
- copyright laws. However, I also want you to be able to share my games with
- your friends. So, please feel free to hand on as many copies as you would
- like, as long as you include all of the original files.
-
- If you are going to use SpinWall for your personal enjoyment, whether you got
- it from a distributor or a friend, please mail a check or money order to me at
- the above address. The registration fee for SpinWall is $10. I depend on
- your registering to continue devoting full time to making fun to use programs
- that don't require you to adapt to the program. I'd also like your comments
- and suggestions. In exchange, I'll add your name to the list of those eligible
- for updates, contests, and 24-hour technical support. If you wish, you may
- use the registration form by typing PRINT SPINWALL.REG at the DOS prompt.
-
- Like all of my games, SpinWall is designed for full color with high resolution
- graphics and should run on most PC's and work alikes. SpinWall requires an
- EGA display adapter or a VGA adapter in its EGA mode. There is a provision
- for disabling the game sounds if you prefer the game to play quietly. If you
- have any problems, please let me know.
-
-
- SpinWall is a maze game where you are a ghost that can walk through walls that
- match the color of one of the magic keys you can collect. The game starts
- with all of the walls solid. Pressing the "S" key for <S>pin causes the
- corners of the walls to spin at random opening different doorways. Each spin
- costs one of the emerald gems you must collect.
-
- Each gem collected adds points to your score. Each step or move your ghost
- makes costs score points. Bumping into walls and upsetting paint cans cost
- extra points. There are bonus points for collecting 28 gems and additional
- points for 50 and 100. To get really high scores you must plan your route so
- you can pick up all of the keys and gems and make it to the winners circle
- with a minimum number of moves.
-
- After getting a key, the next spin causes the walls that match the key to
- change color. You maneuver through the maze of halls and rooms by pressing
- the cursor keys to change direction. The <SPACE> bar causes the ghost to
- stop.
-
- Look out for the paint cans! When spilled, the paint covers everything not
- protected by a closed door. The Escape [Esc] key will let you quit if things
- get too bad. When you have collected all six keys, or have sufficient score,
- you may step onto the star (*) in the Winner's Circle to register your win.
- There are bonus gems for scores over 2,000. Spinwall will keep track of the
- best score in the current games series. The top score is saved in a disk file
- that is loaded at the beginning of each game.
-
- You may copy the SpinWall files into any directory on hard disk or another
- floppy. The only requirement is that all of the files associated with the
- program, except for its BAT file, must be in the same directory. You can
- execute the program directly, with a batch file, or from ActMenu. If you put
- SpinWall on your hard disk, the BAT file may need changes for your system.
-
-
- Good luck, and let me know if you enjoy SpinWall. Your support for my
- programs is sincerely appreciated.
-
- Thanks,
- Chris
-
-
- P.S. Please retain the original files if you are going to pass SpinWall along.
